michaelMichael Fisher, Executive Director

Michael Fisher is the Executive Director for the Learning and Performance Institute. In this role, Michael consults with client organizations throughout Alberta to align learning solutions with strategic objectives. For any questions related to open enrolment or custom learning programs, Michael will normally be your primary point of contact.

Michael brings an integrated approach to learning which he advanced while in previous corporate training business development roles. He has consulted with organizations to provide a broad range of solutions including leadership and professional development, project management, business analysis and custom IT programs. Michael believes in talent management solutions that are firmly rooted in the reality of the everyday workplace - solutions that provide new skills, change behaviours, lead to immediate application, and which ultimately support the long-term objectives of individuals and organizations.

Michael also pioneered and grew a successful online business in the late 1990s. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree from the University of Alberta, and received the Faculty's Gold Medal upon graduation.

sherylSheryl Wolowyk, MBA, CEO, Learning and Performance Institute

Sheryl Wolowyk is the CEO of the Learning and Performance Institute, and she provides consultative services (via our sister company, my HR professional) in strategic planning, performance management, succession planning and talent management and development. Sheryl has expertise in conducting needs assessments and designing and delivering management and leadership programs. Sheryl has worked with numerous organizations over the past eleven years to assess organizational, team and individual developmental needs, and has designed courses and programs to address those needs. She has developed a library of courses and programs for management and leadership development and has several hundred instructional resources that she utilizes to deliver management and leadership programs through the Learning and Performance Institute "Instructor Source" service area. She is very focused on understanding client needs and ensuring that learning and development and consulting solutions improve organizational and individual performance.

Sheryl graduated with honors and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Alberta. She holds an Alberta teaching certificate and is a former board member of the Conference for Executive and Management Development and a member of the Human Capital Institute. Sheryl is also a registered provider with the Performance Assessment Network™ (pan).

theresaTheresa McGee, Program Administrator

With over 20 years office experience, Theresa provides administrative, bookkeeping and research support to the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) and Instructor Source. This support includes day-to-day coordination activities for LPI, including research and analytical support, logistics and scheduling for events and workshops.
