Certification Options

The Masters Certificates in Project Management and Business Analysis now each have two certification completion options!  We understand that not every participant has the same goals and requirements, so we offer flexibility in program choice.

The traditional, full semester program, is our most popular option.  Attendees begin the program with a cohort of similar professionals in other industries, and will continue to work closely with this same group over the entire semester.  This option is the fast-track path to certification, and creates an intense, cohesive learning experience.

The self-paced program allows maximum flexibility for scheduling, and extends the time and budget commitment over a period of eight months to three years.  Participants choosing this pathway will complete 6 core courses (in any order), and then proceed to two final modules - "Filling in the Gaps" and the "Closing Simulation" - which pull together the entire program in the 'big picture'.

Which Learning Option is Best for Me?

The right learning option depends on the features and benefits which are most important to you.  Please examine the chart below, for guidelines on program selection.

Feature or Benefit Required Best Solution Why is This Option the Best Solution?
I want my program to explore all knowledge areas and to provide the 'big picture' view. Either Option Our programs are carefully designed to encourage excellence in professional practice.  The semester version begins with a 1 day introduction, followed by 6 core courses in specific knowledge areas, and finishes with 4 days in 2 closing modules that draw all knowledge areas and application together.  The extended certification jumps right into the 6 core courses (which can be completed in any order), and then draws the 'big picture' over 5 days in 2 closing modules.
I want to complete my program as quickly as possible. Full Semester The full semester version is a fast-track method that enables certification within 4-5 months.
I want to minimize the total cost of the program. Full Semester The total cost of certification is approximately $1000 less, for those who complete it in a single semester.
I want to network closely with similar professionals throughout my program. Full Semester Participants in the full semester will begin and complete their program with the same cohort of attendees.  The intense learning experience and team-based exercises lead to professional relationships that are often maintained for years after program completion.
I prefer the Full Semester, but 1 or 2 modules conflict with my schedule. Full Semester Participants may transfer 1 or 2 modules to an alternate location (anywhere within Canada) or to a later semester, at no additional charge, and still complete the remaining modules as part of the full semester.  If 3 or more modules pose scheduling conflicts, then the Self-Paced/ Extended Certification is a better choice.
I want a progressive learning experience that incorporates both theory and application. Either Option Both options begin with specialized courses on specific areas within the Body of Knowledge, and both finish with two courses that tie these knowledge areas together.  Participants in the Full Semester will experience slightly more of a progressive learning experience by attending courses at regularly prescribed intervals, which keeps the program fresh at all times.
I need flexibility in scheduling. Self-Paced Certification In the extended certification, the first six courses can be completed in any order, and over a period of up to three years.  The full program can be completed in two semesters (a single year), or over a period of up to 3 years.
I need to break down the program budget into smaller segments, over 2 to 3 years. Self-Paced Certification Extended certification courses begin at just $990 plus GST, including materials and catering.  For participants in the full semester, we can also often split payments over 2 fiscal years or over 3-4 months, for flexible budget management.  Please contact us directly for more information on these options.
I can't commit to too many training days within a short time frame. Self-Paced Certification The extended certification can reduce your training time commitment to as little as 6 days per year.
I've completed intermediate or advanced courses elsewhere, and wish to apply for transfer credit. Self-Paced Certification Individuals who have completed intermediate or advanced PM or BA courses with other education providers may be eligible for transfer credit of up to 4 days, against the 18 day certification.  Participants applying for credit will need to provide proof of completion and equivalency, and transfer courses must have been completed within the past 3 years.
I prefer just to attend a couple courses on the subjects that matter to me most, and am not interested in earning the full Certificate. Self-Paced Certification Participants attending individual courses are never obligated to complete certification.  If you see a topic of particular interest to you, please feel free to register in that course alone.
